Whinfield Primary School have developed a curriculum which is ambitious and designed to give all pupils the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life.
In Design and Technology, the whole school curriculum has been designed very carefully in conjunction with all staff to ensure that the knowledge and skills are taught in a sequential order which will ensure pupils know more and remember more.
In Design and Technology we follow the objectives set out in the national curriculum. As a school, we follow the Plan Bee scheme of learning. This scheme offers all children the skills and knowledge needed to ensure every child at Whinfield can be the best they can be. Staff adapt and tweak lessons when needed to link with other areas of the curriculum or to meet the needs of the children. Pupil and staff voice is also taken into consideration and the curriculum is adapted accordingly to accommodate their changing needs. Design and Technology is celebrated in school through displays in the classrooms and corridors.
