Welcome

Whinfield Primary School is a larger than average primary school situated in the north of the historic town of Darlington. We are a welcoming community which evolves and changes to meet the needs of our learners. We believe that education is about expanding our expectations and building on firm foundations. It is critical for our success that every learner is well equipped with a balance of social, moral and academic skills.

Everyone has had to change and adapt in many ways during these recent months and we want to thank everyone for the support you have given to the school. It has been such an unpredictable time in so many ways and you have been patient with us as we have had rapidly amend procedures in order to fulfil what has been rapidly changing Government Guidance. We really appreciate the difficulties ‘bubble’ closures have caused for you and can only thank you for the supportive comments we have received.

In all of this have been the children who have been resilient, accepting of the changes and just done their best with everything that has been asked of them. As a school we are so proud of them and as parents/carers we know you are too.

I hope that we have now reached a point where we can gain that stability that the whole school community requires and look forward to the exciting opportunities which lay ahead.

I hope that, within our website, you will discover how we combine the best of community values with the very latest in teaching methods. If you would like any further information about any aspect of life at Whinfield Primary School, please do not hesitate to contact me.
